How We Make Money

PointsCompare.com is a free credit card comparison tool. We earn revenue through affiliate commissions — when you click an "Apply Now" or "Learn More" link on this site and are approved for a credit card, we may receive a commission from the card issuer or its affiliate network.

These commissions are paid by the card issuers, not by you. They do not add to the cost of the card or change any terms of your application.

How Compensation Affects Our Content

Our card rankings are determined entirely by math. When you enter your monthly spending in our calculator, cards are ranked by the net annual rewards value they produce for your specific spending pattern — annual fee subtracted. No card can pay its way to a higher ranking.

We may choose which cards to include or exclude from our database, and we may choose which comparisons to feature on the site. Those editorial decisions can be influenced by whether we have an active affiliate relationship for a given card. However, within any comparison or calculator result, the ordering is strictly by calculated value.

Affiliate Networks We Work With

We participate in affiliate programs through the following networks:

  • FlexOffers — programs include Citi, Wells Fargo, Capital One, and Discover cards
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — programs include Chase and American Express cards

Not every card on this site has an active affiliate relationship. Cards without affiliate programs display direct links to the issuer's website and generate no commission for PointsCompare.

How to Identify Affiliate Links

All "Apply Now" and "Learn More" buttons on compare pages, card detail pages, and calculator results may be affiliate-tracked links. There is no visual distinction between affiliate and non-affiliate apply links on this site — assume all outbound application links may be tracked.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and its guidelines on affiliate marketing disclosures. We are committed to transparency about our commercial relationships.
